The future of health and care lies as much as possible outside the hospital and is organised around people. People who are healthy for longer suffer less from treatment and keep more control over their own lives. As a result, they are happier, more productive and can participate more and longer in society and the economy. MedTechNL envisions a future where diseases are spotted before symptoms appear, where medical treatment starts early and effectively, in or close to home instead of in hospital.
With a leading medical technology ecosystem, MedTechNL is committed to keeping people out of hospital and reducing healthcare costs. As a consortium, we want to contribute to a substantial change in healthcare. We are approaching the limits of our current healthcare system, with the risk that in the future it will no longer be affordable and able to be staffed. With the deployment of medical technology, we can turn the tide.
Programme lines
The programme lines are inspired by the idea that the future of healthcare and care lies mainly outside the hospital. And that people should be centre stage. The activities focus on three pillars:
prevention and early diagnosis
treatment within a hospital with minimal damage
monitoring and treating patients in their own living environment
