KIA ST: Broadly Supported Programs

Long-term programmes for the very latest innovations

For current innovations that are relevant to many KIC partners, long-term programs were developed in the past by KIA ST: Broadly Supported Programs (BGPs). BGPs have a scientific basis in one or more key technologies, with one or more application domains, and they can count on the support and (financial) commitment of one or more partners within the Knowledge and Innovation Covenant (KIC). A number of these programmes have been developed further as applications for the National Growth Fund.

CS$NL | Cybersecurity

In 2023, the BGP Cybersecurity knowledge and innovation for the Top Sectors was launched, under the name CyberSecurity for the Netherlands (CS4NL). CS4NL offered an ecosystem for all top sectors, a knowledge and innovation agenda with seven demand-driven themes and two programming streams. The CS4NL program has now stopped and the ambitions and activities are being incorporated into a new action agenda for the NTS topic Cybersecurity.

Exceed | Experimental environments

In 2023, BGP Cyber Security Knowledge and Innovation for the Top Sectors was launched under the name CyberSecurity for the Netherlands (CS4NL). CS4NL provides an ecosystem for all top sectors, a knowledge and innovation agenda with seven demand-driven themes and two programming streams. CS4NL coordinates NWO calls and calls based on top sector funds to achieve impactful knowledge and innovation projects.

High Tech equipment

A new generation of high-tech equipment is needed to make the Netherlands future-proof and to cope with the social problems we are now facing. The BGP High Tech Equipment will develop new equipment in six areas with a common basis in key enabling technologies. The BGP was developed in more detail as an application for the National Growth Fund under the name NXTGEN HIGHTECH. This was awarded in the second round.

MedTechNL

Medical technology offers huge opportunities for human health, care and the economy. BGP MedTechNL wants to enable this vision of the future with medical technology, with demand-driven care concepts that revolutionise the quality, staffing and affordability of health and care. With a leading medical technology ecosystem, MedTechNL is committed to keeping people out of hospitals and reducing healthcare costs. Its activities focus on three pillars.
