At the end of June, the annual update of the education data from the Technology Education & Labour Market Dashboard was published. This dashboard provides insight into the trends and challenges in technological career paths (science, engineering, and ICT), both in education and on the labour market. Until last year, these figures were presented in the Technology Pact Monitor.

A notable positive development is the increase in enrolments for second-level teacher training programmes in science subjects at universities of applied sciences, as well as for (technical) vocational teacher training programmes. For the first time in years, these programmes are seeing growth in student numbers, which may help expand the pool of technological educators in the Dutch education system. Additionally, for the first time, the share of girls choosing a science-focused curriculum (N-profile) in senior general secondary education (havo) has surpassed that of boys. This shift had already occurred in pre-university education (vwo) last year.
