Quantum technologies

Following the National Quantum Course, Quantum Delta NL launched the International Quantum Course earlier this year: a free online program that reveals the complexities of quantum mechanics, highlights current developments in quantum technology, and explores its future implications. The course is designed to make quantum knowledge accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world. It is currently available in Dutch, English, and German, with more languages to follow in the near future.

The International Quantum Course aims to raise awareness worldwide of the new possibilities and societal implications of quantum technology. Launched in conjunction with the United Nations' International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, the course underscores the global importance of inclusive quantum education.

Quantum science and technology are developing rapidly—from groundbreaking research to successful startups and strategic government investments. Scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders worldwide are accelerating their efforts to become quantum-ready. Despite this dynamism, quantum remains an abstract and exclusive domain for many.

The International Quantum Course offers an accessible online introduction to quantum theory and applications. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate recognizing their first step in understanding this transformative field. More importantly, it empowers them to engage with and shape the future of quantum technology.

We are currently in the midst of the second quantum revolution. Quantum technology will transform much more than just computing—it will revolutionize how we address major global challenges like climate change, cybersecurity, and drug development. To realize this potential, however, it's crucial that society as a whole understands, discusses, and helps shape this groundbreaking technology.

As the quantum community grows, it's crucial that quantum becomes not just a topic for labs and boardrooms, but also for classrooms, living rooms, and public debate.
